This position is located at the Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center (TFHRC) in McLean, Virginia. The ideal candidate for this position has broad pavement expertise, understands highway agency needs and has experience planning, overseeing and promoting research and development activities associated with pavement surface characteristics, pavement safety and infrastructure resilience. He/she also has good project management skills, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.

As our TFHRC Highway Research Engineer, you will work with the Team Leader to:

  • Coordinate and manage the FHWA’s pavement surface characteristics research program;
  • Provides expert knowledge in pavement safety applications;
  • Plan, initiate, evaluate, conduct, promote, coordinate, and monitor internal and external research activities in the areas of infrastructure resiliency.
