Fully funded Vice-Chancellor’s PhD scholarships available at the University of West London, UK

The School of Computing and Engineering and the Faringdon Research Centre for Non-Destructive Testing and Remote Sensing at the University of West London (UK) has several openings for fully funded Vice-Chancellor’s PhD scholarships (International and Home applicants) in the monitoring of pavements and transport structures (highways, railways, and airfields) using non-destructive testing, remote sensing, and immersive technologies.

Available project calls are focussed in the areas of:

i) Network Level Pavement Infrastructure Monitoring through Satellite Observations. 

ii) Monitoring of Historical Heritage for Sustainable Urban Development Using Satellite Remote Sensing.

iii) Railway Track Foundations and Ballast Monitoring Using Remote Sensing and Ground-Based Non-Destructive Testing Methods.

iv) Assessing and Monitoring Highways and Pavements Using Remote Sensing and Ground-Based Non-Destructive Testing Methods.

v) Assessing and Monitoring Airfield Runways and Taxiway Structures Using Ground-Penetrating Radar and Satellite Imaging.

vi) Visualising and Communicating Data from Remote Sensing and Non-Destructive Testing Using Immersive Technology for Civil Infrastructure and Environmental Asset Monitoring.
